Uncharted Territory

The vessel continues its journey
But doesn’t know its destination
It follows the North Star
To the ends of the Earth
Or the end of this life
Whichever comes first
Not knowing where the waters lead

Uncharted territory
Places that remind you
That you chose this life
When you could have chosen
Something much simpler

But what would have been
The fun in that
You chose the adventure
And accepted everything
That came with it

You look at what could have been
And can hardly believe
It wasn’t meant to be
Or maybe it still is
In this life or the next

Sometimes dreams never die
You just keep chasing them
Doing whatever you can
To keep them alive
And they lead you on wild journeys

You end up in places
You never imagined you would
But somehow it all fits together
Like a jigsaw puzzle
And you can see
That you are the architect of your life
