The Schoolhouse Desk

The Schoolhouse Desk

Alone in the schoolhouse
Hiding from the world
A room full of empty desks
“I love you, Jacob”
Etched into the desk next to me
By a young girl’s hand

Hoping that someday
A girl feels that way about me
And I feel that way about her
And we are in love together
Instead of being in love alone
There’s nothing worse
Than loving someone
Who doesn’t love you back
