Objective Data

Sit on the couch
Turn on the propaganda machine
And keep fooling yourself

Why think
When someone else will do it for you
Why question
When you can do what you’re told

Keep believing what you see
On the screen
As if these people are trustworthy
Even when all evidence
Points to the contrary

Is it stupidity or laziness
Likely a healthy dose of both

But how can you tell real information
From propaganda
How can you tell truth
From everything else
What are the standards
For evaluating whether something
Is true or not

Just because people agree on something
Doesn’t mean it’s true
And it’s not true just because
Some purported experts say so

There must be objective data
Independent, verifiable, provable, objective data
Opinions are worth nothing
Without objective data to support them

So the questions to ask
When determining if something is true
Is where is the data
And how objective is it

Who produced the data
What are their interests
What was their process
What were the inputs
What was the sample size
Can the data be replicated
Did others reach the same result
