Gravity

The best I could
Wasn’t enough
And so she left
When things got tough

I won’t forget
The way I cried
When I found out
That our love died

Times gone by
And lessons learned
Play with fire
And you get burned

When times got tough
I thought she’d stay
But I found out
The hardest way

She’s here for now
But out by dawn
You don’t know what you’ve got
Until it’s gone

Nothing I can do
Will bring her back
The joke’s on me
I lost my track

Not even God
Can fix this mess
The scores are in
I failed the test

Freefalling now
To God knows where
Gravity pulls me
Towards despair

Can’t see up
And can’t see down
A blind man lost
Who can’t be foun
