Today I Ran a 4:30 Mile

Today, I ran a mile in 4:30.

That’s the pace of an elite English Premier League striker.

I’m a 41-year-old with a day job (for now).

I smoke everyone just because I can.

The world doesn’t want to recognize me.

So, I will give it no choice.

I’m taking over.

You’re all on notice.

The thing is, I could have run it faster.

It took 30 seconds just to get the treadmill going fast enough.

And I still had a lot left in the tank.

I worked out for 2.5 hours afterwards.

I’m going to have to run it again because I know I can beat that time by a lot.

For the past five years, I’ve hardly even been running.

I was mostly surfing and skateboarding.

But I also did a lot of strength, mobility, and balance work.

It paid off.

Some of us just want it more and are willing to do what others aren’t.

Don’t believe me?  Good.  There’s video.

You can see the numbers.

Read ‘em and weep.

Think I’m just another guy?

Think again.

I will make the world remember me.

P.S. Get out there and train!
