The Truth: Both a Shield and a Sword

I just ran into an old friend.  He didn’t stop to talk.  Maybe he was just busy.  Or maybe he doesn’t like me anymore.  Either way, it’s none of my business.

My only role is to tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may.  Those who are ready to love me will – those who aren’t won’t – and I will have done my job, in any case.

The truth is both a shield and a sword.  It pushes the wrong people out of your life and pulls the right ones in.
