I Won’t Back Down – Tom Petty

Another one of my favorite songs by the legend Tom Petty.  Johnny Cash did a great cover of this song later in his career.  My version sounds more like Johnny Cash‘s version, but not as good.  Someday I hope to be half the player Tom Petty and Johnny Cash were.  Both true musicians, unique in their own way.  Two of my all time favorite artists.

Singing this song is empowering, especially when I feel like I am getting my ass kicked in life.  That’s the best time to sing this song.  When I feel like I am losing or like things aren’t going my way.  It just reminds me to stay strong and keep going.  Keep staying the course.  Don’t ever give up on your dreams no matter what happens.  That’s what this song means to me.
