Aging

The thing I’ve noticed
About getting older
Is that everything that is good
And authentic about you
Stays

And all the rest falls off

Including things you held dear
That you thought were a part of you
But really weren’t

If it can fall away, it will
And what’s left is you
In your truest and most pure form

When you look at it like that
Aging is a beautiful process
And a process of self-discovery
